The backing coat that provides a true surface for the walls or ceiling, flat, curved or shaped.

It is carried out in numerous materials and whilst there are small differences with each material, basically the application is the same.

Thin coats are applied until the depth is reached, then ruled off until perfectly flat and finally keyed for receiving the finish.
